Our approach to delivering superior broadband satellite solutions is straightforward, meaning easy deployment, maintenance, and scalability. You never need to purchase new equipment as network traffic volume grows. Our direct satellite network solutions infrastructure consists of the Gateway and the Customer Premise Equipment (CPE). Applications running on your headquarters servers and local area network (LAN) connect with your remote locations through the public Internet or private fiber backbone and Tachyon's Gateway. The Gateway communicates with the remote Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) over commercial Ku-band satellites. For back up applications, the Tachyon network integrates with primary terrestrial networks using industry standard protocols such as BGP4 to accomplish automatic and transparent failover between primary and back up connectivity.
Gateway
Tachyon’s Gateway connects to the Internet backbone or other fiber networks, providing a high-speed secure remote server network between CPE sites and your HQ LAN. The Gateway consists of a satellite dish, transmit/receive electronics, modem and processing electronics, server computers, and data networking equipment. The Gateway also includes a Layer 2 IP switch to interface with the Internet backbone or other fiber networks.
CPE
Tachyon’s CPE is your remote connection to the Tachyon high-speed network. Our equipment is easy to deploy with a variety of options that provide static-mount or transportable satellite broadband connectivity. The CPE has been designed to support all tiers of network service so you do not need to purchase new equipment as network traffic volume grows. Your bandwidth can be dynamically increased with a simple telephone call to Tachyon’s Network Operations Center (NOC).
Tachyon’s cost-effective CPE includes a small, durable satellite dish with a powerful radio. It also has an indoor unit that functions as a standards-compliant static router that integrates easily and quickly with your existing network infrastructure.
Satellites
Tachyon utilizes geostationary satellites that are operated by commercial satellite operators. Tachyon’s system is not particular to a specific satellite; it uses Ku-band and other frequencies, which are available all over the world. Tachyon’s satellite selection process is driven by our focus on delivering enterprise grade network performance and reliability.
